Day 2/ 1st June 2022
This was one of the most hectic days of my entire life. I was told OG Labour room had never seen 7 deliveries on one single night and me and Sam (name changed) had to work non-stop for this. Initially when we came, Jaya (name changed) ma'am was the DMO and Nirmala (name changed) ma'am was the PG incharge along with Anu (name changed) ma'am as 1st yr PG. There was a emergency LSCS and i had to go as one crri had to be there.
When I returned, one patient had delivered and there were 3 in labour. Little did i know that the next 6 hrs were gonna be too hard. Being the 2nd day, we only knew so much and running around connecting NST monitors and doing contraction checks were already tiring enough. I was connecting NST monitor to one patient who had been in severe pain for a really long time. And she tried to tell me something but she couldn't. I connected the monitor and was searching for a belt to connect it to and suddenly I saw that the head of the baby was already out. I didn't understand what was happening because the DMO Jaya was in another LSCS surgery and Nirmala ma'am was the only one with me and Sam. Nirmala ma'am and Sam were seeing 2 other patients and she was not very keen on this patient as her cervical dilatation was only 6 cms. The other patients were much more advanced. I went near the patient just to confirm what I was seeing and I panicked and called Nirmala ma'am immediately. She was very tired after working for more than 12 hrs straight and at 6 am, she was dead tired. She came slowly and saw it and said "those look like membranes only daa". But then she came closer and suddenly got activated and said "okay it's the head the head is coming call Paeds okay don't call Paeds run over to Paeds department and bring them immediately". I literally ran instantly to Paeds dept to bring one of them and the Paeds Pg was fast asleep. LMAO He woke up slowly and came slowly without a care in the world. By the time I reached back, they clamped the cord and resuscitated the baby by themselves. It was such an adventurous 12 hrs with 7 deliveries. I don't think I'll ever forget this night!
